They got both System Shock and I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream and others that for some reason are on Steam only.

They should definately get this game out of copyright hell. The level design dare I say it even puts Rainbow Six 3 to shame :P

They even have an element of horror when they deal with psychopathic characters.

One of the best FPSes I ever played, next to TRON 2.0, Star Trek Voyager: Away Team and Bulletstorm. Interestingly, none of them are here on GOG.

What makes you think there is any copyright hell with SWAT 4?

I just remember people saying that here in the forums. Cannot find anything specific, but still enlighten me.

Now if this game came out at the same time as Rainbow Six 3 I will be a happy camper :D

Did you mean Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force?

If I remember correctly, Away Team was the Commandos-esque Trek game.

I have heard that claim, but nothing specific from it and I still haven't heard a compelling argument as to why it couldn't just be in Activision's hands (like the other games in the series).

Strangly enough, since I really like tactical, squad based games, I never got into the Rainbow Six series. One of those things I should like, and just can't.

Yes, yes of course. Go it mixed up, having Away Team on my mind just now (I just bought it and DS9: The Fallen recently).

...... I didn't know there was a SWAT 4! My favorite by far is SWAT 2.

Its argueably the best game in the series judging by people's fond memories of it (Not once do I ever hear people say anything good about the first 3)

The third one wasn;t bad at all. It's just totally overshadowed by the vastly superior 4. I still enjoyed it, in the abscence of other similar games. Well, at least untill the fucking sewer level. It's such a tedious maze, that navigating it again and again, always dreading that one shot kill from around some dark corner, that I just had to give up before I lost what little sanity I keep for special occasions.
Don't get me wrong though I loved SWAT 3 but I really loved SWAT 2 with its top down view, plus I was about 12 or 13 and new to the PC gaming world....... I use to also have a subscription to PC Gamer, the one that came with the demo disc
All signs point to Activision owning it, but they haven't given much thought to anything from their back catalog for the past 3 years, as you can tell by their inactivity on GOG. It's just no longer a part of corporate's strategy to bring back their older stuff, the biggest reason being that they don't want to pay their legal department to look into it. Even other companies like the Heavy Gear license holders tried to get Activision to bring the Heavy Gear games to GOG, and Activision wasn't interested.

Yeah, blame Activision. GOG and Night Dive should poke them more until they give in :P

What really sucks is Activision owns some games that should be with Bethesda. Heretic 2, Hexen 2's expansion, Wolfenstein '09 and Quake Wars. A few years ago Bethesda acquired Quake 4 but nothing more...

Activision also has Soldier of Fortune, which actually are in rights hell.
