KiNgBrAdLeY7: Cut the crap, professor! (witcher quote)
My classmates in school used to call me professor, too, so that means I've been a professor for several decades. To be a professor with this much experience at a still young age burdens me with the great responsibility of maintaining a semblance of intelligence, whether it is there or not.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: I like living on the edge. I like challenge against impossible odds, it reminds me of real "hell" (or rather, hell-like situations) and offline matters. And i am CONQUEROR, TWICE by now... At least i am master of nightmare. Only thing cutting me short of beating hell, is gear and sudden lags. Now i will try to make up for it.
In that case, I recommend playing Pixeljunk: Monsters

In that tower defense game, you have to protect your primitive village hut and the 20 babies inside. The monsters will come and try to eat the babies. If even a single little shit gets through your defenses, you won't get a rainbow rating and you need a certain number of rainbow ratings to access other areas and finish the game. Very annoying because every level takes around 30 minutes and there's no speed up option. But that constant feeling of potential impending failure due to the minutest slip-up could appeal to your living on edge preference.

awalterj: Magic find is a catch 22 thing: In order to have a high MF percentage you need to have good gear but in order to find that kinda gear in the first place, you ideally already have high MF...

Personally, I don't see how one can even get 300 MF in untwinked singeplayer and I think killing speed and resistances are way more important than high MF - especially if you're playing hardcore. I don't play hardcore as I consider it a masochistic obsessive compulsive thing rather than anything remotely fun. The EXP penalty from dying in hell mode is already incentive enough to try keeping your character alive imho.

I see playing on hardcore as an artificial hormone rush creating device but unlike in a really dangerous situation, you're still sitting in front of your computer in comfortable safety. Therefor, the questions arises whether this messes with the brain chemically because you keep putting your mind on edge way beyond natural frequency especially if you play lengthy sessions - this could potentially kill off many dopamine receptors and ultimately make people more numb. If a player needs to play in hardcore mode, it's possible that they already grew too numb to get excitement from playing the game normally, of course this doesn't automatically mean there's a health problem in the brain and it also doesn't mean that people who casually play Candy Crush are more chemically balanced brainwise.

remember the easiest way to get the mf up is to have a 3 socket shield with jewels or runes( Ist Rune) in them , at the start have perfect topazs in every equipment socket you can, getting 100 plus mf is easy this way,

3 socket shield + 3 runes / mf jewels
2 socket armor + 2 perf topaz
1 socket helmet + 1 per topaz

getting the equipment for making mf running sorc is the easiest once you have a mf sorc that can do runs in hell the drops should start rolling in quickly.

That's basically how all action or horror games\movies work XD

liquidsnakehpks: 3 socket shield with jewels or runes
Or a Blade Of Ali Baba with 2 Ist runes on switch :D
(my Gog, the things I still remember about D2!)

Yeah. Working on it. Already got 4 socket armor full with perfect topazes. Easier than the runes and only 4% less sum of magic find...

And already paying off. Second skin of the vipermagi. Again from countess dungeon, somehow. Was hunting runes and oh, boy...

I like using Skuller's Ire because its MF bonus increases with your char level, gives my level 87 char more than 100 MF just from this item. That armor has no resistances but I have those maxed out with my other items (my shield alone gives +111 on all resistances, standard paladin shield with decent base all resist and 4 perfect diamonds so no high level gear)
I also like the Sigon set, super easy to find since it's a very low level set (needs only level 6) and when you have the boots, belt and gloves you get +50% MF. I wore some of that stuff all throughout hell.

Skullder's Ire: (better than armor with 4 perfect topaz gems if your char level is high enough)

(iirc I got this from a quick & easy Pindleskin run)

Skullder's Ire
2x Blades of Ali Baba with ist runes
Harlequin Crest with ist runes/perfect topaz. Alternatively you could use Tarnhelm, not as good but easier to find than Harlequin Crest.
War Traveler boots
Goldwrap

Was some of my standard items for an MF character. I'm probably forgetting a few, but those are the ones i can recall off the top of my mind.

Harlequin Crest was a godsend for spell casters
