It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

without any success. Why do you even have this ever-present annoying Internet monstrocity IN your client? If anyone is pissed off by anything on the Internet, it will be capcha for at least half of the cases. It makes we want to ditch GOG. Really.

Say "thanks" to your Internet provider. Your IP address is the core of this problem with CAPTCHA.

I suspect you have recently watched Inception and played a lot of GTA? ;-)
The function worked in the browser version, luckily. I do not know why they pushed this half-assed client on people before they actually finished it. The previous one was much better.

One never knows, but it worked in the browser, so it is the client  . Thanks for the tip. Sometimes I get similar problems when I use services requiring capchas one after another. It is definitely an abused security option - it fails far too often and then pushes some answers on me - suggesting I should mark scooter as a motorbike, for example ;-)

I have most surely overreacted over this one, but it has been such a rough day that it was just a cherry on top...

It's not just in the client. It's also on the website. I had someone who I gave a gift code to who was unable to redeem it through the website because they couldn't pass the Captcha.

Definitely GOG should abolish the plague that is Captcha from everywhere that it is present on GOG infrastructure.

So maybe it is about load fluctuations and I just got lucky that it worked for me in the browser? They could indeed come up with an alternative which is not an everpresent generic annoyance that gives Google free machine learning material.
At this point I'm sure bots are better at solving CAPTCHA than humans are.

I have little doubt that it is true :)
But, but.. without captcha, the Earth will be dominated by robots within few days. It is our last and sole defense between now and complete robot domination. Skynet is waiting for us to let our guard down by disabling captcha so that a Terminator like scenario can begin....

Or it is a pointless annoyance that is about as useful as jamming a fork in your eye. Not quite sure...
This music comes to mind about this
