PookaMustard: Mwahahahahaha!

Seriously, to me, necromancy is bad when it's trying to revive a time-sensitive event, not when it's a harmless thread like this. For example, if a thread was necro'd about a terrorist attack in say, 2014 with the new post talking as if the event happened just yesterday, it would be a problem. But 'how many games do you own on GOG?' isn't that kind of thread that is relevant only in a certain time.

yeah i just noticed this thing got necro'd twice now
Both times by the OP, and it's still a relevant topic (also, it's kinda nice to see how some people's "collections" have grown).

To the matter at hand: here's an updated version of what I posted when this thread was young:
- 78 games (37 freebies & redeemed gifts [the latter of which were mostly also free or free with purchase of something]) + 2 or 3 DLC (depending on how one counts one deluxe version I have) + 2 demos (free, obviously) + 8 unredeemed game gift codes (4 free...and 3 of those are Dragonsphere :P) + 1 free digital comics dingus + 3 movies (all free)
- 81 [url=https://www.gog.com/movies]items "purchased" (not counting unredeemed gifts, or those redeemed by others), at least 1 of which is no longer available
- 60 total "purchase" transactions (counting gift codes I've redeemed, but not those I've given), 31 free/"free to me" (if one doesn't count the free games added to my shelf at registration as a "purchase")

I've played the GOG version of 37 of the games (plus a handful more that I have played before -- one of which [Daggerfall] is currently on my desktop), plus installed another, only to find I couldn't really play it because of how sluggishly it ran, among other issues. I've also watched 1 of the movies, and had seen 1 of the other two on YouTube previously.

I have beaten only 3 of these games (though, in my defense, at least 4 of the others I've played are not "beatable" in the usual sense).

Too many... 800?

(Actually GoG says 771, not including DLC and soundtrack purchases and bonus material)

and how many times are people going to fucking point out to me that the topic is still relevant ?!
i got it the first time
I kinda have to admire the people who seem to have been here ever since like 2008 or such, seem pretty semi-active in the forums to me, yet report having only something like 40 games on GOG or something.

Maybe they have very specific tastes for games, but I don't think I'd simply have enough self-control to hang around in GOG that long, without buying oodles of games. I mean, if I really found it that "hard"(?) to find interesting games to buy on GOG, I probably wouldn't even hang around here.

This was not blaming anyone (for buying too few games?), just an observation of my amazement. Then again I am not expecting most to buy games as blindly in masses as I've done, no siree.

I admit for many it might also be an issue of money (ie. they simply can't afford more than a couple dozen GOG games in 8 years), but... can't you like go on the street to beg or something, with a "Will work for GOG games" sign?

Enough to make me constantly whining about having nothing to play...
I have about 150 games on GOG; counting 77 original entries here, and 112 I keep elsewhere too.
402 on GOG, 511 on Steam. When I worked out how long it would take to play them all my buying slowed down rather a lot.

There is nothing I could say here which would beat this comment.

Gylfe: I would love to download all of my GoG library onto an external HD, just in case something ever happened and GoG shut down or I needed one in a pinch and didn't have internet access.

My collection is always 100 games.

I do this by keeping in my shelf the top hundred games I like best, while hiding the lesser ones.

Right now, the hidden section is 166 games.

*edit: note those 100 games include many games I think I'm going to like them if I play them...

many of those games are still in backlog;

the tag 'completed' reveals 8 games (BG, BG2, BG:EE, IWD, DA:O, Van Helsing I & The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav)

the tag 'aborted' reveals 15 games

the tag 'parked' (for later) reveals 6 games

the tag 'currently playing' reveals 9 games

doing the math reveals 228 games I haven't played yet.
