Soccorro: Once yesterday. Then i tried installing win 10 and the HDD just stopped working at 92% progress. The HDDs light just went out. I resetted and the HDD just bootet as usual, followed by a win 7 rollback.
Did you check if the HDD cable isn't a bit loose?
I don't have any other ideas however..

nightcraw1er.488: An informative post, thank you. Could I ask your opinion on this:

Icy Dock MB971SP. Internal drive which you can slide a 3.5 and a 2.5 drive into. Am interested on opinions on it as I have heard some bad things, but I have two in my machine, one for swapping out backup drives, so only 2.5 is used most of the time, and the other with a 2.5 and 3.5 in place, and they work like a charm. Just wondering if there is any likelihood of damage to the routinely used ones?
It looks like useful hardware, but I'd need to physically see one first hand to be able give a fair judgment call on the quality etc.

The cables seem ok. Maybe its the RAM

Soccorro: Hi, I just got that Bluescreen again with the third HD in 2 years... Are HDDs really so prone to failure? I've checked my Ram, no errors. What other cause could there be? I mean come on, two toshiba HDDs failed within 2 months and the SSHD Im using now at least survived 1.5 years. Its a seagate by the way, if that is of any relevance.
RUN command sfc / scannow / r that scans system files, detects corrupted files and repairs them,
bootsect / NT60 c: \ which repairs the Master Boot Record (MBR) of the hard drive hosting the OS. (Know that if the keypad does not work, just use the numeric keys from the top of the keyboard letters)
chkdsk c: / f / r which checks the partition of the hard drive on which is the OS (windows ), in general C: (Note, this check can only be executed after a restart of the machine).
if you recently install software or update you may try to uninstall it following this steps below.

Solution 3. Uninstall corrupt driver in safe mode
if still not solve your issue if you created a restore point, perform system restore.

ffs, put a non-vibrating fan next to drive to keep it within 25-30 celcius, then install gsmartcontrol and watch RAW of fields that have the words "sectors" and "events", especially "current" or "pending" or "reallocated". If they are non-zero - dump the drive.

Alright, that answer just might be useful for somebody even if the OP probably solved their problem years ago...
