Be sure to use a source port like BuildGDX, PCExhumed, or RAZE (if DosBox is not your thing). At the time of this post it is on sale for 8.99 USD. I've only ever played the demo a while back so I am excited to finally get the chance to own the game. Powerslave also comes with the OST in MP3 or FLAC. Also the manual is there as a goodie, too.

EDIT: Since it was just released today someone might want to change the PC Gaming Wiki page of Powerslave. That way it shows that the game is on a digital storefront.

EDIT2: PC Gaming Wiki page has been updated! Thanks! Now more people will know that they can buy the game here.

Sounds like a good idea, especially since it seems like some of the controls like strafing were not really working well in the original PC version.
So, how's the quality of this release? Is it like Blood Fresh Supply type of quality, or just a 1:1 rerelease of the 1996 version?

I still have a version of EX that I keep and have been waiting for this release for years.

This, with the usual GOG treatment that DOS games get - pre-configured DOSBox + ogg soundtracks.

Does Powerslave work with RAZE now? Last I looked it have serions problems with it (good for Duke, though)

Its a re-release of the old DOS version with DosBox.
When I saw that it had come here I knew it would make a lot of people happy.
I played the original game in DosBox and had no issues. Granted, I played on keyboard only so don't know if it has any mouse related issues.

I had no idea that it had problems with RAZE. I just knew that RAZE was compatible with Powerslave / Exhumed. Guess its the other ports or DosBox for now. I bet RAZE's support with the game will improve.
I still have my copy of Exhumed on CD.
My recollection is I paid $5 AUD for it new, way back when.

I also recall never finishing the game due to some bug or issue etc. Perhaps the Powerslave version is better, though the version available here now at GOG seems to be the Exhumed one.

In any case, it would have been an instant buy by me, if it was a more realistic price. $13.09 AUD is about double what it should be, though I would have maybe accepted paying as much as $7 or $8 for it.

So onto the wishlist instead it goes ... I can wait ... or just try my luck implementing DOSBox myself.
I've replaced most of my CD and DVD games here at GOG, but only when the price is reasonable .. or when I can justify a bit more to support GOG.

they are identical, it is the same game only called Exhumed in Europe. The rest of the world call it PowerSlave

Fun fact - the PowerSlave name is from the Iron Maiden albume with the same name

Frankly the name offends me.

Shouldn't this be called "Powercontrolplanenode" instead?

I think that is the case. There were differences between the PC and console versions (pretty large) but as for the name, it was the same game.
At this point it is only the old PC version with Dosbox. But a remaster of the console version is on it's way:
