Hmmm looks interesting. Will check it out.
Reminds me of Death's Door which is a very good game.
Ngl I thought it was called The Tale of Bustin at first lol
Does it have ARPG elements like loot, or is it a pure adventure game?
Is this supposed about Farhad's adventures in and around Kermanshah, Mount Behistun and Taq-e Bostan during the waning last decades of the Persian Sasanian Empire?

Always appreciate when a game has a demo available. https://www.gog.com/game/the_tale_of_bistun_demo for those who didn't notice.

Also, the system requirements are listed as "TBA" which would usually be fine for a "coming soon" or "pre-order" game but since the demo is already available I don't see how there aren't already system requirements listed. Seems like a big oversight.

You could try the demo and find out for yourself, or you can wait till I have had time to try the demo and I will come back and let you know the answer. Usually if there is loot though they would advertise it, or at least have a screenshot of the inventory screen. So I would guess pure adventure.

Edit: Having tried the demo now I can confirm that it is pure adventure, no rpg elements of any kind.

The game page says: "The Tale of Bistun is a story-driven action-adventure game inspired by the 12th Century tragic poem “Khosrow and Shirin.”

Don't know if that answers your question or not, and you may have already seen it, but I thought I would share.

Edit: Having tried the demo I thought I would share a few things that some people usually ask about new games. There is no key rebinding, though that kind of thing can sometimes change from demo to full game release especially if requested. Only xinput controllers as well, which I hate. Dear game developers worldwide, x-box controllers aren't the only ones in existence! No manual saving, just autosaves. Pretty standard for this type of game, but some people always ask about it so there you go.

As for the game itself: gameplay seemed pretty light/simple, mostly just something to do while you push the story forward. Game was rather on rails/handholdy but the demo was just of an early level so you would expect more of that anyway. All of this is fine and pretty standard for this type/genre of game, but you have to go in knowing what to expect and what not to expect or you will be disappointed. Brought to mind The Last Tinker: City of Colors, if that helps anyone know what kind of game to expect.

Overall I will probably be waiting for full reviews once the full game is released to decide if this is a game I want to play or not. Until then I will keep an eye on it.

Couldn't help but think of a Tolkien universe, because of title name and the trailer.

But X-input is the most common... At least here, where I live. You almost cannot find a controller (except the Playstation compatibles) that don't have the standard X-inpust compatibilty. OK, maybe some very cheap controllers, that have 1, 2, 3, 4 labeled buttons and a PS2 form.

The thing is, as far as I know, x-input only works with x-input controllers. Direct-input works with all controllers, including x-input. So using x-input just limits controller options for no reason. I have a very nice NYKO Airflo EX (which I guess is pretty old at this point) that works beautifully and I wouldn't trade it for a crappy x-box controller if you paid me, but so many new games won't recognize it because developers only seem to care about x-box controllers because they are the "most popular." It just annoys me to no end.

You are right, but (sadly) the market and the industry seems these things differently...

The Tale of Bustin a Nut, a tragic one-handed romance
Nice graphics. Looks fun anyway.
