Came across this video series.

Basically it's someone reading out some of the really really really stupid posts left behind by those that don't know what they are talking about. I see a lot of repeats of 'the eye can't distinguish or see above 30fps' type of stuff, and very low IQ responses in regards to tech.

Anyways, i guess this is a good place to dump personal experiences...

Reminds me, for more PC stuff, RinkWorks is another source; You'll be reading and laughing for hours.

I don't care for it myself. However listening to the non-nonsensical arguments... :P

Every time people act like I should make fun of those who are completely ambivalent to resolution or framerate or whatever I feel like they're saying I should look down on my wife, since she couldn't care less. I ain't lookin' down on the wife, sorry. Different people care and know about different things. My dad is a total idiot about computers but he can put together a '57 Chevy with his eyes closed. So yeah, see things through their eyes.

Though I do hate it when, after I tell someone in real life that I'm a PC gamer, they reply "isn't PC gaming dead?" That's happened less lately though, thanks to... well, the service which shall not be named.

I do as well, and it has been going on for way too long. To me it should be more about the gaming experience rather than the platform it was delivered on. In my day I have enjoyed both console and PC gaming equally. Each has it strengths and weaknesses.

I think because I started out on the Atari 2600 graphics and such don't matter nearly as much to me as gameplay and story.

I still play Atari 2600 games. :P

Atari2600 is a little too low for me. I tend to go more Atari400/Atari800, or Genesis/SNES as a base of quality.

Regardless, if the game is fun, great. If not.... *looks at the Skyrim PS3 review, a huge docking due to annoyances that could be solved by mods*

Same here :) I love the 2600 Activision games. They were such a great company before they went all dark side and evil.

Badly?

Me personally, I play 90% on pc, but consoles can be great. Much the same as controller can be far better in certain games (driving, platformer, fighting etc.), but playing fps with controller is madness. Just use what is appropriate.

I have the Activision Anthology on CD which runs and controls great, and the, I can't remember the name, Atari Collection on Steam which plays great but DOES suffer with modern controllers.
The OP isn't inflammatory at all.
The usual people won't start insulting each other about random things.

I hate all of such tribalistic bullshit. Console vs PC, Marvel vs DC, Star Trek vs Star Wars etc. Just enjoy whichever you like, both if you can. I guess it's always good to sensibly discuss and compare, but when people start picking sides and making it a matter of validating at any cost a choice that doesn't even need to be made things get pathetic.

Well, PC Master Race is at least somewhat justified. Can't say the same for Console Peasants.
