Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is now available on GOG!

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the tough as nails archeologist or a newcomer to the series, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is the perfect opportunity to (re)discover Lara Croft’s original adventures, now lovingly restored. This definitive collection will allow you to play the original three Tomb Raider adventures with all expansions and secret levels.

The Remastered Collection includes:

Tomb Raider I + The Unfinished Business Expansion

Tomb Raider II + The Golden Mask Expansion

Tomb Raider III + The Lost Artifact Expansion

Within those timeless classics you’ll be uncovering treasures of the ancient world by solving puzzles and unraveling mysteries lost to the ravages of time. It’s a globe-trotting adventure, where you follow Lara Croft facing off against deadly foes and dangerous myths.

All of that with upgraded graphics, but also with the option to switch to the original polygon look at any time.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, out now!
Apparently I was wrong about the saving issue via TheGrimLord above, but also apparently there's a simple workaround for now:

"Try deleting the Steam API .dll (steam_api64.dll) in the game directory. It looks like a bugged implementation is causing it. After deleting that I was able to save."

Did you test the 1.01 offline installer? i'm playing in that version and works without Galaxy, can save and load without issue.
Thank you, Aspyr and GOG!

I always prefer remasters to remakes and I especially love remasters that allow swapping to classic graphics on the fly, same as Halo MCC or Diablo 2 Resurrected. That's how all remasters should be done!

Give us the last two prequel trilogy games, Crystal Dynamics!

Nah I haven't even tried Remastered yet tbh. ;) Maybe they finally fixed it; Clownski did say on X/Twitter they were working on a fix.
The remaster looks pretty cool:

Would grab them in an instant if a realistic price.

Unbelievable what some expect to get away with, with remasters.

Creating a game is a whole lot more work on many levels, than doing a remaster.

And you'd think they could come up with a far better discount for those of us who already own the originals at GOG.

I like it, but I think I will wait for a 50% discount.

These games are woke. I want to play a male protagonist. /s

00063: [...] . And of course the games being completely overpriced.
£25 for three games with the expansionn = £8.33 for each game with its expansions

seems fair to me
Not worth arguing over of course and I'm not here to debate, but these do come with the expansions not previously available legally on digital stores, and I've seen many TR fans on Twitter asking for remasters for years and they're happy about this. May well be somewhat overpriced, but it's not outrageous imo (though I did get the 10%+10% discounts).

Time4Tea: I don't see much point in buying these remasters. The price point is quite high and the originals play very well in the open-source engines that are available, which already give access to higher resolutions. (…)

wolfsite: Not everyone is aware of the open source engines or may not understand how to get them running properly.
I don’t know of any open-source engine for these games that actually has reached a state of stability that would allow to fully enjoy them. So these remasters are more than welcome (not at that price tag, at least for owners of the originals, but this is another topic).

I played through the whole of TR1 and Unfinished Business just last year with Tomb1Main on Linux. It worked well OOTB, ran great, in a nice high resolution and was a really good experience. At the time, I tried out 3-4 different open-source TR1 engines that are currently in development and Tomb1Main seemed to be the best (most faithful/most stable). I highly recommend it.

I can see the appeal of these remasters for those who don't already have the originals, or don't have the technical ability to get the open-source engines working. And I agree, it's nice to see the expansions bundled in as well (they should have been bundled in the GOG release of the originals anyway).

(incidentally, I installed and tried TR2 and TR3 in Wine as well. TR2 ran great in Wine OOTB - no engine replacement needed. TR3 didn't work OOTB (but I didn't spend much time fiddling about with it)).

That's the one that has been renamed to TR1X, right?

Depends on one's viewpoint, I suppose.

I bought the three originals 10.5 years ago, for a total of $3,99 (today: ~€3,72).
Sure, the remasters come with three expansions, but... shrug
